Every successful solar project begins with a real business need. In this particular project the need was very clear. Our client’s goal was to generate reliable electricity while helping reduce operating costs for a busy commercial site.
Located in Juticalpa, Olancho, Honduras, Gas Station Padilla 1 is now powered in part by a 120 kWp solar system. The project was carried out by our trusted partner Planeta Solar. Eco Green Energy provided high quality ATLAS 585W N-TOPCon solar modules. Through this project we can clearly see that commercial solar is becoming an increasingly practical investment across Latin America.
Challenge
A gas station uses electricity from morning until night.
Fuel pumps, lighting, refrigeration, security cameras, and office equipment all add to the daily energy demand. As electricity prices rise, these costs continue to grow.
At the same time, roof space is limited. Every panel needs to deliver as much energy as possible. The system also needs to perform well in Honduras’ warm climate and provide reliable output for many years.
Finding that balance was the project’s main challenge.

Planeta Solar designed a system that matched the customer’s energy needs while making efficient use of the available space.
The ATLAS 585W modules produce more power from every panel. That makes them a strong choice for commercial rooftops where space matters. Their N-TOPCon cell technology also supports high efficiency, reliable performance, and long-term energy production.
In total the system enables the gas station to generate a significant share of its daily electricity on-site. As a result, the business can reduce its reliance on grid electricity during daylight hours while improving the overall economics of its energy consumption.
