The transition toward renewable energy continues to accelerate across Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Large-scale solar projects are playing an increasingly important role in strengthening energy independence and supporting national sustainability goals.
Eco Green Energy is proud to announce an important milestone in the development of a 40MW utility-scale solar project in Moldova. The first phase of the project has officially begun. EGE has delivered the initial 5MW of photovoltaic modules to the project site and installation activities already underway.
Developed in collaboration with our long-term partner, Cerchez Vasilewith over 17 years experience in this field. This project represents another step forward in expanding clean energy infrastructure and increasing renewable energy generation capacity in the region.

Challenge
As Moldova continues to diversify its energy mix, utility-scale solar projects must address several key challenges.
First, large solar developments require reliable equipment supply and careful project planning to ensure construction schedules. Any delays in logistics or procurement can significantly impact project timelines.
Second, project developers need high-performance photovoltaic technology capable of delivering consistent energy production long term. At the same time they also need to maintain strong financial returns.
Finally, utility-scale installations require trusted partnerships between suppliers, developers, and engineering teams. That is to ensure smooth execution from delivery through commissioning.

Our Solution
To support the successful implementation of this 40MW solar power plant, Eco Green Energy supplied the first 5MW of photovoltaic modules as part of the project’s phased deployment strategy.
The arrival of the modules marks the transition from planning to active site execution. Installation teams begin construction activities and advance toward the project’s next milestones.
Through close cooperation with Cerchez Vasile and the project stakeholders, the first phase has been delivered according to schedule, creating a solid foundation for the remaining stages of development.
Once completed, the 40MW solar installation will contribute significant renewable energy generation capacity: it will help reduce reliance on conventional energy sources. The goal is to support Moldova’s growing commitment to sustainable power generation.
The successful delivery of the first 5MW is an important achievement in the journey toward this 40MW solar plant project in Moldova.
Beyond the scale of the installation itself, the project highlights the value of long-term partnerships, reliable supply chains, and collaborative project execution. As construction progresses, Eco Green Energy remains committed to supporting developers, EPCs with dependable solar solutions.
We look forward to sharing additional updates as the project advances through the next phases of installation and commissioning. We work together to bring clean, reliable solar energy closer to reality for Moldova.
