From Plastic to Green Savings: Powering Ecuador’s Industrial Sector with Solar

Commercial & Industrial

Introduction: A Strategic Partnership for a Greener Future

A 450 kW rooftop and carport solar project for our strategic partner, Inplass, in Salcedo, Ecuador, transforming their plastics factory into a self-sustaining facility.

Challenge

In Salcedo, Cotopaxi, Ecuador, Inplass, our strategic client, has partnered with us to deliver a landmark 450 kW solar energy project. Inplass is not only a key client of EGE in the region but also a forward-thinking industrial player. This project showcases their commitment to sustainability by integrating our solar technology directly into their own plastics factory, turning previously unused rooftop space and a new carport into a powerful energy-generating asset. This case study details how EGE’s comprehensive product range is helping power a greener industrial sector in Ecuador.

Balancing Industrial Growth with Energy Demands

Inplass faced a set of challenges common to many modern industrial operations. The continuous manufacturing process of a plastics factory requires a stable and uninterrupted power supply. Any fluctuation or outage can lead to significant production losses. Key challenges included:
  • Rising Energy Costs: Increasing reliance on the grid exposed the factory to volatile and escalating electricity prices, impacting operational overhead.
  • Energy Reliability: The need for a consistent power source to maintain continuous production schedules and avoid costly downtime was paramount.
  • Sustainability Goals: As a modern manufacturer, Inplass aimed to reduce its carbon footprint and align its brand with environmentally responsible practices, contributing to Ecuador’s greener industrial ambitions.
