In an effort to promote sustainability and reduce operational costs, Power Electrical Sale Corporation, S.A. de C.V. completed the installation of a photovoltaic system on the rooftop of the Hospital located in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico. This project, designed for the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), consists of 387 state-of-the-art Atlas monocrystalline panels, each with a power output of 550W and an efficiency of 21.28%. The system delivers a total installed capacity of 206 kw, contributing significantly to the hospital’s energy independence by harnessing solar power.
Challenge
A key challenge of this installation was ensuring that the photovoltaic system could withstand the coastal climate of Puerto Vallarta, a region prone to high humidity and strong winds. The roof of the hospital’s medical unit also presented space constraints, requiring precise planning and placement to optimize the area for maximum energy production without compromising structural integrity. Another challenge involved adhering to strict technical standards and international test certifications while maintaining efficiency and durability.
Our Solution
To address these challenges, 387 Atlas monocrystalline photovoltaic modules were selected for their high efficiency and durability in harsh conditions. These panels, capable of withstanding winds of up to 160 km/h, provided the ideal solution for Puerto Vallarta’s coastal environment. The project’s design optimized the available rooftop space, ensuring that the installation could support the hospital’s energy needs without interfering with day-to-day operations. Additionally, thorough testing and quality control measures were implemented to ensure compliance with the project’s technical specifications and international standards. The completed photovoltaic system now serves as a sustainable energy source, reducing the hospital’s reliance on traditional electricity while providing long-term savings.
