Self-Sustaining Solar Project in Ecuador

Commercial & Industrial

In 2022, Eco Green Energy successfully completed a solar power installation in Ecuador, today it is marked as an 100% self-sustaining system.

For this project we provided with 237 high-efficiency 540W Atlas Monofacial PV panels. This results in a total capacity of 128kW. We also supplied 4 inverters of 32kW. The project itself is still operating at maximum efficiency and our client’s facility has managed to become to be 100% self-sustaining. The PV system provides all the energy needs for the facility, helping to significantly reduce operational costs and promote environmental sustainability. The client’s expectations were fully met, and they are now experiencing the benefits of reliable, cost-effective solar energy as well as energy stability. That is a very important aspect for a country like Ecuador, where grid instability is increasingly troubling citizens.

Challenge

As with any large-scale renewable energy project, the installation came with its own set of challenges.

One key obstacle was the need to ensure that the energy consumption of the facility was met in full through solar generation alone. This required precise calculations of the energy demand and the configuration of a system robust enough to cover peak energy consumption periods. Additionally, there was a tight timeline for the project completion, with minimal disruption to the client’s operations. Coordinating logistics, sourcing high-quality components, and working within local infrastructure constraints posed further challenges that we successfully tackled, with the support of our partners.

Our Solution

To overcome these challenges, Eco Green Energy deployed a tailored solar solution featuring 237 Atlas Monofacial 540W panels, which are guaranteed to offer high energy output and reliability. We also supplied four 32kW inverters were placing them strategically to ensure the system could handle both day-to-day consumption and occasional energy surges. The system’s design was optimized for 100% self-sufficiency, allowing the facility to completely meet its energy demands without relying on external sources.

Finally, we managed to complete the project on time and within budget. The end result is a solar power system that not only meets but exceeds the client’s expectations, contributing to long-term energy savings and a reduced carbon footprint. We are very happy to have received our client’s testimony, 2 years after the installation and their feedback is a proof of our dedication to quality and product longevity.
