Eco Green Energy Achieves Low Carbon Footprint Milestone with Certisolis PV Modules

At Eco Green Energy (EGE) we have a vision: Building a Greener World. And we aim to achieve this not only by offering products and services that make sustainability feasible; we make sustainability a part of our production. So, we are proud to present our Certisolis PV Modules.

In short, we put words into action.

What Is the Carbon Footprint Certification?

The Certisolis Carbon Footprint Certification is awarded based on a product’s total carbon emissions from raw material extraction to PV module assembly. This certification is a testament to our efforts in producing solar modules with the lowest environmental impact. Consequently, this places EGE among the few solar manufacturers meeting these high standards.

Our Atlas TOPCon-R double glass 490-510W and Atlas TOPCon-R double glass 435-455W PV modules have received the Certisolis Low Carbon Footprint Certification. This recognition underscores our dedication to creating high performance solar products that also minimize carbon emissions throughout their lifecycle.

The simplified carbon footprint evaluation with a score less than 550 kg CO2 eq/kWp is required by following rules and regulations:

  • PPE2 public tender conditions on realization and operation of PV installation (ground mount and on building, agrivoltaic, shed, carports with an installed power less than or equal to 500kWp.
  • Decree of October 6, 2021 (also referred as the S21) sets the conditions for the purchase of electricity produced by PV installations on buildings, sheds and carports less than or equal to 500kWp installed peak power.

Carbon Footprint Data for EGE Solar Modules:

PV Module ReferenceMax. Power OutputCarbon Footprint
EGE-435W-108N(GM10)435W464.417 kg CO2 eq/kWp
EGE-580W-144N(GM10)580W463.662 kg CO2 eq/kWp
EGE-450W-96N(GM10R)450W460.099 kg CO2 eq/kWp
EGE-500W-108N(GM10R)500W464.721 kg CO2 eq/kWp

What is new in 2024

A new calculation method to evaluate the carbon footprint of a PV module has been released in July 2024. This new method does not consider the life cycle analysis (LCA) and is applicable from the 8th period of 2024 of public tenders in France. PV modules shall have a carbon footprint value less than 740 kg CO2 eq / kWp to be eligible for the tenders.

Below is the equivalence between the original calculation with LCA and the new calculation method without LCA. Certisolis has released a calculator to evaluate PV modules carbon footprint based on the original PPE2 ECS. We are thrilled to disclosed our PV modules carbon footprint values* in exclusivity:

PV Module ReferenceMax. Power OutputCarbon Footprint
EGE-435W-108N(GM10)435W660.138 kg CO2 eq/kWp
EGE-580W-144N(GM10)580W660.070 kg CO2 eq/kWp
EGE-450W-96N(GM10R)450W653.908 kg CO2 eq/kWp
EGE-500W-108N(GM10R)500W660.871 kg CO2 eq/kWp
*these are not certified values, but calculated based on official calculator from Certisolis.

These values are significantly below the regulatory maximum of 740 kg CO2 eq/kWp, making EGE one of the few manufacturers eligible for French public tenders. Our panels deliver high efficiency with a lower carbon footprint, giving our customers a sustainable choice without compromising on performance.

Why is the Certisolis Low Carbon Certificate important?

Competitive Advantage in European Markets:

The Certisolis certification allows EGE’s PV modules to compete in the French and European solar markets, where carbon footprint standards are stricter. This makes our panels a top choice for public projects that prioritize sustainability.

Reduced Environmental Impact:

By lowering our carbon footprint, we help reduce the overall environmental impact of solar installations. Each kWp of Eco Green Energy panels installed contributes to cleaner energy production with fewer emissions.

Support for Green Initiatives:

Governments and businesses adopt green energy initiatives and are prioritizing projects the use of certified low-carbon products. Certisolis certified PV Modules allow Eco Green Energy to participate in such initiatives, subsequently offering more oportunities for large-scale projects!

Future-Proofing Against Regulatory Changes:

Regulations surrounding the carbon impact of energy products continue to tighten, but Eco Green Energy is ahead of the curve. Our low-carbon footprint PV modules meet current and expected future carbon standards.

EGE’s Roadmap to a Greener Future

Obtaining the Certisolis Certification is a critical step in our journey to achieving more sustainable solar technology. EGE is committed to reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and supporting green energy transitions worldwide.

By choosing Eco Green Energy as their partner, our clients contribute to a greener planet. We invite you to join us on this journey by making environmentally conscious decisions for your solar energy projects.

Conclusion

Our Certisolis PV modules Atlas TOPCon and TOPCon-R reinforce our commitment to sustainability. Through this certification, besides meeting regulatory standards we offer cleaner, more efficient products to our clients. This is only an addition to the series of Certificates our products have received. However, it is a significant boost for our sustainability journey!
