150 kW Winery Solar Project in Irig, Serbia | Eco Green Energy

Commercial & Industrial

In the vineyards of northern Serbia, solar energy is becoming part of the winemaking landscape. Eco Green Energy supplied EGE-600W-144N (GM10) TOPCon modules for a 150 kW solar project at a winery in Irig, Serbia, connected to the grid in 2026. The winery now has its own source of clean electricity, produced right where the wine is made.

Project Introduction: Solar Energy on the Slopes of Fruška Gora

Irig sits on the southern slopes of Fruška Gora, in the Srem region of Vojvodina. Orchards, vineyards and small villages shape the landscape, and the town is known for its long winemaking tradition, celebrated during local events such as the Vineyard Keepers’ Days (Pudarski dani). For a winery in this region, solar is a practical way to produce clean energy on site and rely less on the grid.

Why the Winery Chose Solar: A Lower Electricity Bill

The winery’s goal was clear from the start: bring its electricity bill down. Solar does this in a very direct way. Every kilowatt-hour the panels produce and the winery uses on site is a kilowatt-hour it no longer buys from the grid. Production peaks during the day, which lines up with a winery’s working hours.

Once the installation is in place, the sun costs nothing. The savings begin on the first day of operation and keep building year after year, over the decades covered by the 30-year power warranty. The winery is also less exposed to future rises in electricity prices, which makes its energy budget easier to plan.

Real savings depend on one thing above all: modules that keep their output for decades, not just on day one. That is where Eco Green Energy’s experience counts. EGE has more than 3 GW of modules installed worldwide and works with over 120 distributors in more than 75 countries. Our modules are developed by our R&D team in France and built in our own factory, without outsourcing, so we keep full control over the quality our customers rely on to get a return on their investment.

Challenge

Steady Energy Needs from Harvest to Bottling

Making wine takes more electricity than most people think. Presses, pumps and bottling lines all run on power, and temperature control is essential during fermentation and storage. The busiest period comes with the harvest and fermentation, in late summer and early autumn, when cooling needs are at their highest.

For wineries, energy is a cost that comes back every day. The challenge is to find a source of power that keeps that cost under control over the long term, with equipment reliable enough to run for decades.

Our Solution

High-Power TOPCon Modules Built to Last

Eco Green Energy supplied its EGE-600W-144N (GM10) TOPCon modules for the project:

  • Installed capacity: 150 kW
  • PV modules: EGE-600W-144N (GM10) TOPCon, 600 W each
  • Module dimensions: 1134 × 2278 × 30 mm
  • Grid connection: 2026

With 600 W per module, fewer panels are needed to reach 150 kW, which saves space and reduces mounting and wiring work. The modules use n-type TOPCon cells, which are less affected by light-induced degradation than conventional p-type cells and lose less output when temperatures rise. Our Atlas TOPCon range in this power class reaches an efficiency of up to 23.42% and comes with a 30-year power warranty.

Solar production follows the hours of daylight, which matches the working day of a winery. The installation now provides clean electricity on site, season after season.

Strong Roots in the Balkans

This project joins a growing list of Eco Green Energy installations in the region, including a 2 MW rooftop project in North Macedonia and a 100 kW / 211 kWh solar and storage system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, both connected to the grid in 2026. Our modules are produced in our own factory in Nantong, China, with EL and performance testing as part of our quality control, so partners across the Balkans can count on the same quality from one project to the next.

Conclusion

This project in Irig shows how naturally solar fits into agricultural and food businesses. Wine production needs energy every day, and the sun provides it right on site. With high-power TOPCon modules, the winery now produces part of its own electricity and gains more control over its energy costs for years to come.

From the vineyard to the bottle, every kilowatt produced on site counts.
